Aging with purpose is bigger than any of us.
Life is hard. As we grow older, it can get harder.
Bodies change. Roles shift. But when loss and change intrudes, new freedom is often invited. When it does, what anchors you?
For me, it’s been Aging with Purpose.

When we can’t control the condition of the sea, and we’re not sure what direction to steer our ship, it’s most important that we find strength in our anchor. That anchor is where joy comes from.

As part of the 2025 Ms. Senior America Pageant where I represented CT, sharing your Philosophy Of Life with the judges and audience is part of the competition. As I As it turns out, it wasn’t my achievements that resonated – it was my philosophy.
People didn’t want to be impressed. That wanted to be moved. I began listening in a new way. I thought about people like me that were in a new chapter of their lives and I engaged in conversation with them- women over 50, seeking to understand how their philosophies were formed, tested, and refined by real life. I’ve learned that true joy doesn’t come from the next accomplishment.
This is how I live with energy.

The person I am now is informed by the eclectic roles I’ve played over the years: an MBA-trained businesswoman, consultant in the non-profit sector, real estate broker, national ballroom dancing champion, certified Spiritual Director, author, mother, grandmother, and spouse of over 40 years.
I’ve gained experiences that can’t be bought; they have to be lived and earned. At 67, while a lifelong learner, I’m ready to share the valuable lessons that life and its occasional plot twists have taught.
The shape of our days determines the shape of our lives.
I take strategy from business, strength from sport, humility from family, an anchor in faith, and always with a healthy dose of humor.
